History of Music Magazines

For my Media Studies Coursework we have been set the task to create our own music magazine. In the music magazine we have to create a front page, contents page and a double page spread. In order for us to start creating our music magazine we firstly have to research into different music magazines, the codes and conventions, the history of music magazines, different institutions and the way different magazines are laid out. In this PowerPoint I created and published onto Slide share, I researched into different era's of the music press and how the first music magazines/papers were made and the reasons behind it. Also I was able to see how as years went on music magazines became more 'glossy' and catergorised into different genres. I learnt that many years ago the general music magazines started off with a newspaper style layout and recently the well known layout that we see today.
